Acharya - Faculty Development Program
“Soft Skills are people skills - the non-technical, intangible, personality specific skills that determine one’s strengths as an assertive leader, negotiator and conflict manager.”
About this Course
The “Acharya - Faculty Development Program” is designed to introduce various concepts in designing and conducting soft skills training in a classroom.
The tools that are taught in this program are based on advanced learning theory and are latest in the brain research. This is a hands-on program, with opportunity to deliver a course through a series of labs and exercises.
Course Overview
Description
The objectives of the Acharya (FDP) are to provide a training program that teaches how to design and deliver soft skills training. The program content is presented in 18 (15+3) modules that can be customized to best fit the needs of the participants. Each module builds on the previous module and moves towards the next one. However, you can also present each module as a standalone unit to teach just one concept.
The program is designed to mirror the learning principles taught in the class. For example, games are discussed as a way to review content. In one exercise, participants play several games to learn first-hand how games reinforce training concepts.
The Acharya program is an instructor–led classroom course. It incorporates the use of lectures, discussions, demonstrations, games, group and individual exercises, and hands-on labs. When appropriate, the course presents labs and demonstrations directly after teaching points to help reinforce learning. The focus of the course is to provide participants with the task-based skills essential for developing and delivering training programs.
At the conclusion of the program, the participants should be able to develop their own content and deliver a sample program to other participants in the class. This is a performance-based program with opportunities for practice in developing training skills.
Trainer Certification
The trainer who successfully completes Acharya is expected to be a qualified trainer in designing and delivering training courses. To become a Certified Trainer, the participant must attend and participate in the Acharyaprogram, conducted by Nuline EduCon, and agrees to the Licensing Agreement.
Soft Skills Training for Trainers Course Content
The course is devised in 2 sections that run simultaneously- Trainer and Trainee Sections. While the Trainee section consists of the topics that will help in self-development of participants, the Trainer section details on developing a training program with understanding on the requirements to train others
The 1st section consists of 15 modules and deals with the normal soft skills training program and various workshops, classroom discussions.
Section 2 is divided in 3 modules for the better understanding of the intricacies involved in the development of a training program.
The Trainee Program – Section 1
The Trainer Program – Section 2
Extensive research and care is taken in developing this section as the ‘future- trainers’ need a mechanism that helps them to prepare a smooth training module of their own based on the requirements. The section is divided into 3 modules.
Module 1 - Producing a Training Plan
Description: This module is the foundation for the entire course and gives an overview of why and how training fulfills a business need, and how to develop, implement, and evaluate a course. A training program begins with a blueprint from the Needs Analysis through evaluation and determining the return on the training investment.
Module 2 - Developing a Training Course
Description: This module provides basic adult learning principles upon which to build a solid training program. Participants are given opportunities to analyze their own learning style and one for a partner.
Module 3 - Delivery of Training and Follow-up
Description: The Evaluation Module includes a variety of methods to receive feedback from participants on the effectiveness of the training.
